Anyone planning to do this ride on July 10? The terrain is very flat, and there will be support, so if you were thinking about 60 or 100 miles, this could be for you!
I may try the Century, depending how I fare on a long distance ride this coming weekend.
We are also thinking about a gathering after the ride at our place in LeRoy. Let us know if you are thinking about riding.
Peace, Dennis

Dennis, I am planning on riding. Do we have to register before the 10th?

I doubt it. There isn't an online registration, and I had trouble finding an email. I'll check it out and post the answer.

I'll probably be going too -- unless there is rain or high winds. I did the century last year, still haven't decided about this year. The folks that put this on are really nice, we had a great time. For a long stretch of the century there are no formal rest stops. A guy in a car rides back and forth checking on people -- so it can be a long time between snacks. Not a lot of people do this ride, so it can get kind of lonely (I'd recommend going with a friend). And, the price is right, only $12 if you don't want a T shirt. I don't think you'll find a cheaper century anywhere. And the route is very flat (compared to around here). Last year, for the 60 mile route, the total ascent was only 525 feet, and the min to max elevation was only187 feet. You do, however, have to get up early. The century ride starts at 7:00 AM. Here's the web site for the ride: www.shootingstartrail.org/bikeride.htmAnd here's the maps from last year. I see that they have now posted the 2010 maps on the web site (see link above). It looks like the 100 and 60 are the same (except that the rides start in Adams instead of LeRoy). They also have a 19 and a 40 mile option.

If only that wasn't the same weekend as a family reunion.

I am interested in either the 60 mile or the 100 mile. Anyone want to carpool?

Five day forecast says weather should be perfect!
I will do at least 60. I only hesitate on 100 because my longest ride this year is 60 and I didn't get anything longer in this weekend with the weather.
So, I'm in for a carpool.

I am planning on doing the 100. It would be nice to start with a group, are the century folks planning to start at 7 AM sharp?
The on-site registration starts at 6:30 AM.

Alas, there has been a last minute change in plans. As a result, I won't be able to do this ride. Bummer. Looks like you'll have good weather. For those of you doing the century ride, last year I received a nice certificate in the mail acknowledging my accomplishment.

I want to do 60 for sure! I'd do the century if I knew I'd be back in Roch and ready to man my spot in the beer tent at the St. John's Block Party by 4.

I'll go - probably for the 60 mile loop. Gotta be back in Rochester for the St. John Block Party at noon.

Thanks to the 6 man (3 men/3 women) team on the 60 mile ride on the Shooting Star Trail in Adams on Saturday. Fun ride, great teamwork!
