I am organizing a faster (20+) and shorter (less than 35 miles) ride every Tuesday, similar to the Monday/Wednesday rides. The only difference is that, unlike the M/W rides, there will not be a "no-drop" policy. Therefore, the route will be known prior to the ride, and it will typically be short enough for those who might get dropped to coast into town on fumes.
Tomorrow will be the first day we'll meet (at Bamber Valley Elementary), and we'll do a route that we all know: Salem to 5, through Byron and right on 14 into Douglas. Hopefully we'll get enough people so the ride can end with a sprint at the Douglas town sign. The town sign will mark the end of the "ride," as the pace should be congenial until we cross over 3 and head out of Salem Corners and into Byron on 5. Town signs can be contested, especially if you want to use them to create a gap or break pack.
Hope to see more than just myself tomorrow to depart at 6:00 pm SHARP at Bamber Valley!
Regards,
Dan Gaz.

Last night's ride was canceled due to inclement weather. It didn't turn out to be as bad as imagined, but still crappy enough to (hopefully) start on a better note next week. Check here for updates: tuesdaynightterror.tumblr.com

Help!
We need more riders to show up on Tuesday nights. Did I pick the wrong time of the week to hold a faster ride? If there is any hesitation about the lack of a "no-drop policy," I can assure you that it isn't as intimidating as it seems. It's fun to ride fast, but not with four or five people doing yeoman's work. I would love to have ten to twelve people (who can ride fast and safe), since the Mon/Wed rides get triple that number for three different categories. Try it out next week...you never know how hard you can push yourself until you try.
