Head's up! The Minnesota Ironman bike ride is coming up on Sunday, April 25th. It's time to put all our awesome weekly RASC training miles to good use! Looks like online registration closes 5pm Wednesday April 14, 2010. ironmanbikeride.org/Who's planning on riding? I propose that anyone who would like to ride (or at least start the ride) with fellow RASC riders meet at Lakeville at 7:30AM. For those of you that have ridden this ride recently, is there a good landmark near the start where we could meet? P.S. I'm planning on riding the 100 mile option.

Sunday is coming up fast. The weather forecast is looking a little - umm - less than optimal. But chances are pretty good it'll still be better than two years ago (snow) or last year (pouring rain).

Looks like ironman is a no-go for me this year - the weather does not appear that it will be up to my high standards of expectation. Have fun without me!

Ironman 2010 is in the books. Nine RASC riders banded together and braved the rain and wind. Luckily, no torrential downpours or snow this year. Plenty of wet stuff and dirty fun anyway, though. The biggest hazard was avoiding the horse manure on the wet roads. P.S. - Doug, we missed you! I hope you enjoyed spending Sunday on the couch eating Dorritos and sipping Mt. Dew while your friends were pounding out the miles.

My son and I rode today too. I’m not sure which I “enjoyed” more, the manure or the wind. Our plan was to ride the 65 mile route. A sign had blown down at New Prague and we missed a turn. Had to turn around and back-track to the route. Our 65 mile ride turned into a 78 mile ride. We also saw Steve from RASC but I don’t know is last name. Dave G.

Dan R. was there also. Plus the guys from VeloRochester who did the 65-mile option. I'm pretty sure Mark O. rode, but we'll have wait to find out.
Sooooo... who else braved the wind and rain to ride??
And Doug, have you gotten the cheese stains off your fingers yet?

Poor Doug, getting teased all the time. He doesn't even like Doritos. It was strictly a "Cheetos and Cheesecake" Sunday ;D
Glad you all had fun and avoided hypothermia!

Next year I'm hanging with Doug! (I'd love a nice cheesy weekend.)

Glenn S. and I did the 65-mile option. We also missed the turn coming into New Prague, but rode through downtown to get back on the correct route. Mike S. was supposed to be there, but -- like Doug -- he decided the day did not meet his weather requirements.
