We are seeking healthy volunteers 18-50 years old to participate in a research study. The purpose of this study is to understand how a new drug GBT440 affects the oxygen level in the blood, heart and lung function, and a person's response to exercise when breathing air with normal and low levels of oxygen.
Study participation will involve four visits to the Saint Marys Clinical Research Unit. Volunteers will perform exercise and undergo measurements of heart and lung function.
Volunteers must be between 18 and 50 years old, non-smokers, able to perform maximal exercise test on an upright bicycle. Volunteers of child bearing potential must be willing and able to use highly effective methods of contraception during the study to 30 days after the last dose of drug.
