Spring Time Trial Series presented by Tri-Rochester- Douglas East
This is a fun event for triathletes and cyclists to get together and practice time-trialing skills. If you're thinking "I'm not ready for that." Then that's the main reason you should participate! You're racing the clock and will see your times drop from week to week as you get faster.
A time trial, like the bike portion of most triathlons, is a ride with you riding on your own against the clock. Come out and practice your racing skills, test your fitness, or just have fun. If you want to get a little of that running after biking feeling, bring your running shoes along as well. For more information on time trialing check out this article on our time trial series.
Location: For 2016, we will again be using the new course from last year. The starting point will be in Douglas MN. Park in the Douglas Trail parking lot.
Dates: Thursdays in May 2016: 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th. We will start at 6pm each week.
Course: 15.3 mile clockwise loop starting and ending at the intersection of Co 14 (75th st) and Co 3 in Douglas. You will make just 2 right hand turns to complete the loop. A map of the course is available here. After starting you will make 2 turns:
Right turn onto 18th Ave (at the first stop sign you come to). This is at about mile 9.
Right turn onto CR 14 (75th St, Hwy 63) (at the next stop sign). This is just after mile 11. (It is the 2nd paved road on the right, just past Sargents) Then it is a little over 4 miles back to finish where you started.
