Barb and Dan Soderberg, Molly Van Norman, Terri and I snow shoed the single track up to the fire ring last night. I pulled a snow shovel with a 40 pound weight on it. This morning (9am) the trail was still pretty soft but I could ride most of it at very, very low tire pressure. Climbs were almost impossible for me.
Please stay off the trails with less than 3.8inch tires and hiking boots!! If you want to enjoy the trail please, please use snowshoes or wide tires at very low pressure, (less than 5 psi). If you're struggling to ride straight, try lowering your tire pressure more. When I finished this morning, my tire pressure gauge read less than 2 psi.
Dogs were still tearing up the trail at noon. BTW We also saw Bob Glowaic and Andrew Folpe snow shoeing last night! (I hope I spelled Bob's name somewhat close!)
Dave Hallaway BTW I think the trail will firm up pretty good by New Years Day, but it may be a short route.

Just wondering about the etiquette for riding at Eastwood. Last couple years, if the trail was packed enough to support skinnies, I'd take my regular hardtail on the singletrack there. Is this considered ok? I don't want to ruin it for the fat bikers.
