Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel Article 9/12/2010 According to the article, the Telemark owners voted to surrender the lodge and land to an investor from Missouri. The article states there is the possibility the transfer of ownership could keep the American Birkebeiner, the Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association, and the Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival from using the property. Sad development. We first went skiing up there in the late 70's when it was at its prime. Our last trip was last Christmas. It was taken over mostly by snowmobilers, and dirty and rundown. But the trails! Oh my...they'd had a foot of snow the week before, and the skiing was fabulous. There are many other places to ski up there, but the proximity of the lodge to the trails was wonderful. I'd love to see it saved.
