The mountain bike trails will be close Saturday, March 5th on the Scout reservation because of a range shoot. Trail signs will be posted. Because of the warming temperatures, they are too wet to ride anyway - let's give them a chance to dry out. Thanks Jeff

Thanks for posting this. I take the dogs over there sometimes. Is there a website that we could check that updates what is going on at Gamehaven? It would be a really good thing to consider having- we really appreciate getting to use the trails, and obviously would prefer not to interfere with the Scouts (or get shot).

With spring in the air, keep in mind that Gamehaven dries out really slow. It could easily be May before the trails are dry enough to ride, even with the great weather we have been getting. If you are leaving ruts, please get off the trails.
Eastwood dries much quicker so if you are getting the "itch" try Eastwood instead.

I rode Eastwood tonight, 4/3/16. The ground is tacky to dry, very good traction. One spot is sticky mud about 5ft long. We need a trail day! A lot of branches and several downed trees. Gamehaven is still quite wet in several long sections. Please ride Eastwood. Thanks Bob

I spent a couple hours clearing the downed trees at Eastwood today. I can't guarantee that I got all of them, but I can guarantee there are 6 less places with trees in the path. I cleared a short path to get to the outer field section as well. I assume that will be a two way path, for a while anyway, so be on the lookout for traffic coming the other way. If there is no precipitation tomorrow, Eastwood should be good to ride on Sunday!

Thanks, Nate. I had a good ride today at Eastwood. No trees to climb over or under.

I saw there is a new route going to the old grassy section that works pretty good. On another note - I rode some of the westside stuff. It's a bit of a hodge podge. Would be really great if someone could tame it into a single loop like the eastside. What's with the guy who extended his yard like 20 feet into the park???

Sounds like Gamehaven is dry enough to ride, except for one long spot in the grass between the long gravel downhill section and the log splitting shed on the boy scout property. Please avoid that section of trail, and, as always, if you are leaving ruts it is too wet to ride.

Wanting to check out Gamehaven so I can make use of my fatbike year round, but can't seem to find good current info/maps online anywhere, like where do I park? Might just ride there in the future but want to drive there the first time I go to check it out.

Someone uploaded what looks like an up-to-date map onto mtbproject. Here's the link. www.mtbproject.com/trail/7009885/gamehaven. If you hover over the parking symbol on the map, you can use the "directions" link to use google to help plan a route to it. I prefer to park at the reservoir parking lot as shown on the map. You can also park at the scout parking lot, but the connector trail isn't shown on the map.

I try to post updates to the trail on my blog. Here's the latest from Nov. 2015 – anello-grande.blogspot.com/2015/11/gamehaven-trail-update-november-2015.html Most of the time you will want to park at the reservoir/park access lot off of 45th street SE. The Scout Camp lot is usually open, but I only park there for events with permission (ie: trail work days, NICA event volunteer and/or practice days, etc).

Finally got a chance to get out there for the first time last week and really like the trails, but have to admit I got frustrated with the signage. Got turned around and missed the trail a couple times and had to do a bunch of stopping and backtracking (even with a map and google maps on my phone) because it was not clearly marked. Will for sure go back and try it out again, but for people not familiar with the trails it can be sort of confusing in some places where you're supposed to be riding and what is scout/hiking trails and places you shouldn't be. edit:Went out again today and new signs must have been put up because it was much easier to navigate. Tried the new stretch of trail too.

Much of Gamehaven is very wet. Trails are closed until further notice. If we get freezing overnight temps the trail maybe rideable very early (sunrise) for a 1.5 hrs. Or less. Please do not damage the trail. Check out the local Gravel! Thanks
